Chlorella Benefits

Supports Your Immune System
Research published in 2012 in the Nutrition Journal found that after 8 weeks of chlorella intake, NK cell activity improved. Researchers from the Yonsei University in Seoul Korea studied healthy individuals and their immune system’s response to chlorella supplements. The results showed that chlorella supports a healthy immune system response and helps “natural killer” cell activity.

To detoxify your body
Chlorella can neutralize and eliminate some of the contaminating heavy metals and strengthen the immune system, and GLA, which enhances prostaglandin production and possesses anti-inflammatory abilities. One of chlorella’s most significant health benefits is that it wraps itself around even stubborn toxins residing in our bodies, such as lead, cadmium, mercury and uranium, and keeps them from being reabsorbed. Regular consumption of chlorella can even help keep heavy metals from accumulating in our bodies’ soft tissues and organs in the first place.

Chlorella has the unique property of picking up toxic substances and eliminating them out of the body. Chlorella cell walls absorb and hang onto lead. (Report by Drs. D. Lorch and A. Weber)

A powerful defense against cancer
In Prescription for Dietary Wellness, Phyllis A. Balch explains, "Chlorella…contains the highest chlorophyll level per ounce of any plant, as well as protein (nearly 58 percent), carbohydrates, all of the B vitamins, vitamins C and E, amino acids (including all nine essential ones), enzymes and rare trace minerals." Due to its dense and nutrient-rich nature, chlorella offers your body a two-fold attack against cancer.

Both chlorella and spirulina can actually reverse cancer in the human body. Both of these superfoods have been clinically shown to demonstrate stunning preventive and curative properties when it comes to all sorts of cancers.②

An effective nerve damage rebuilder
A phytochemical found in chlorella can actually rebuild nerve damage in the brain and nervous system. That's why chlorella is being used in the recovery of patients with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.③

Improve your digestive system, including decreasing constipation
People find that chlorella helps to freshen breath. Stool smell is also improved and chlorophyll has been attributed to relieving occasional constipation. Chlorella supplements can speed up the rate of cleansing of the bowel, bloodstream and liver.④

Promote a healthy pH balance
It is important that we maintain a balance body pH of ideally about 7.2-7.4, which is about neutral. However, a poor diet of junk food, fast food, overcooked, and processed foods, especially soft drinks, which have a pH of 2.7, can affect the body's pH. The above foods are several thousand times more acidic than our bodies.
Chlorella can help promote a healthy pH level in your body.

Promotes Weight Loss
Losing weight is difficult, especially as we age. In a study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food, researchers state, “Chlorella intake resulted in noticeable reductions in body fat percentage, serum total cholesterol, and fasting blood glucose levels.” (5) Chlorella benefits you by helping to regulate hormones, helping with metabolism, improving circulation, and promoting higher levels of energy. It also helps to reduce weight and body fat, and removes stored toxins. As our bodies lose weight, toxins are released, and can be reabsorbed. It is important to flush these toxins out of our system as quickly as possible. Chlorella’s ability to surround the toxins and heavy metals resident in our bodies helps facilitate elimination and prevent reabsorption.
